LUDINGTON, MI — Officials reported that a 37-year-old Pentwater man was killed after being tangled in equipment onboard a barge on Sunday on Lake Michigan.

HARVEY, La. — According to the U.S. Coast Guard, a towboat pushing barges on Friday, Oct. 25, struck the span of the Lapalco Bridge in Harvey, Louisiana resulting in minor damage to the bridge’s catwalk. Harvey is located about 7 miles south of New Orleans.

CAPE VINCENT, N.Y. — A tugboat accident involving a former Coast Guard boat, built in 1954, sank, spilling about 10 to 20 gallons of diesel fuel into the St. Lawrence River.
