Here are some photos of the capsized tugboat Katherine G at Liberty Island in New York Harbor on Friday, April 6, 2012.
According to news reports, the tugboat capsized when the crew was attempting to lift something using the vessels onboard crane at approximately 9:45 a.m. eastern time. The reports indicate that three crewmembers were thrown into the lower Hudson and were later rescued by a ferry in the area.
Reports indicate that the crew had been taken to a local hospital to receive medical treatment for their injuries however the extent of those injuries have not yet been released.
Coast Guard Sector New York dispatched a pollution response team to oversee the salvage operation and the deployment of boom around the vessel. So far no pollution has been reported and the incident is under investigation.
