A 135-foot crew boat owned by Seacor Marine ran aground early Friday causing various injuries to the four-man crew and an oil spill.
Coast Guard watchstanders in the Houston-Galveston area said they received a call on Channel 16 at approximately 6:17 a.m. on Friday that the M/V Miss Pearl had ran aground on the west side of the Sabine jetties and the crew was suffering from various injuries.
USCG dispatched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium and MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter to the scene to hoist the four crewmembers to safety and transported them to EMS at the Beaumont Airport.
The Coast Guard added that approximately 4,000 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled.
The cause of the grounding is under investigation and the extent of the injuries sustained by the crewmembers has not been released.
